Kids Clothes Bank are situated in Kings Church in Gateshead. They are next door to Citizens advice, behind the Job centre, just off the high street.
They run a service for parents who are perhaps finding it hard at the moment.
They have a Kids Clothes Bank which is open every Monday and Friday morning from 10am – 12.00.
All their clothes are free and come from donations from people in the local area. They have a Facebook page which you can check for further information. The Clothes bank was the idea of a primary school teacher who was part of their church; she could see the struggle it was for some parents to keep up with coats and shoes etc.
They run completely on volunteers who sort, wash, iron, pack and keep our little ‘free shop’ going. They also offer ‘Baby bundles’ for expectant mums which are full of baby clothes, vests and babygro’s as well as nappies, wipes, lotions etc.
Anyone can come into the clothes bank, it is just like a shop. No referral is necessary and there is just a small application form to complete.
