This week, the children of Lower Key Stage 2 have been learning about flowers. We went out into the gardens to find out more about the parts of a flower. Exploring the flowerbeds, we found a great variety of plants, differently-coloured petals and enjoyed the wildlife too!
Looking closely, we found the male parts of the flower e.g. filaments, anthers etc. and the female parts e.g. stigmas and styles.
The best part was smelling the flowers – they were beautifully scented and were attracting lots of insects!
