Updates to school procedures – June 2021
Sports Day
We were hoping to be able to invite parents to our annual Sports’ day, however, due to the continuing restrictions, we are now unable to do this. Sports’ Day will still happen for the children just without spectators to cheer them on.
Leavers Assembly
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold a Leavers assembly again this year, however Mr. Hawdon, Miss. Tipping, Mrs. Hope and Year 6 will work together to produce something for the children and parents to remember.
Transition
Due to the rising COVID numbers, we have been asked to be more cautious with our approach to transition in school. We do however want the children to be given the opportunity to meet their new class teacher. We will therefore be holding 1 transition day in school on the 19th July. Children will move to their new classes and meet their new teachers and classmates. Parents/ Carers will receive new class lists on 1st July. Year 6 parents will receive further information about their last week in school.
Uniform in September
In September, we will once again be expecting children to wear our full school uniform. Our uniform consists of royal blue sweatshirts/cardigans, white polo/dress/tee shirts, dark grey skirts and trousers (black leggings are not to be worn as part of our school uniform). All children should wear black shoes or trainers. Long hair should be tied back. Uniform can be purchased from our local supplier, Logos Unlimited, either in store or online at https://www.logos-unlimited.co.uk/schools
On PE days children should come to school in their PE kit. P.E kit comprises a plain white tee shirt, black shorts and black sandshoes or trainers. Children can wear black leggings or tracksuits bottoms on PE days and their school jumper to keep them warm.
JEWELLERY IS NOT ALLOWED IN SCHOOL, except for watches, which are allowed, but have to be removed for PE, Games and Swimming etc., so please ensure they are not valuable. If parents want to have their children’s ears pierced, it is suggested this is done at the beginning of the summer holiday, so that by the time the Autumn term starts, studs may be removed. Any child who has not followed this advice will not be able to do P.E. and will have to stay inside during lunchtime and break time.
This is a policy of Gateshead LA. and our school strongly supports it.
COVID Procedures
We have been advised to make no changes to our COVID risk assessment in school and would therefore ask you to continue to wear masks when on the school premises, unless, you are exempt, and to continue to follow the one way system around school.
School Communication
We are in the process of changing our communication system to School Ping and so please look out for an email or letter advising you how to download the new app.
To download a copy of this letter please click on the link below or should you require a paper version then please just ask at reception:
