Today year 5 have visited Beamish Museum to learn all about climate change and our carbon footprints. The children took part in 2 fantastic workshops where they looked at what the carbon footprint of someone living in the 1800s and then 1900s would be like compared to now. The children considered how transport, clothing and food supply had changed. Finally to help combat climate change, at the end of the day, the children planted some oak trees of their own. These trees are in a field near the Wellfare Hall at Beamish
