This week in LKS2 the children have been investigating the relationship between their height and arm span. To begin the investigation they learned about the vitruvian man and planned how they would use a comparative test to investigate the link between their height and arm span. During the investigation the children worked in groups to measure each other’s height and arm span accurately. The children then compared their own height and arm span before we collated our results as a class. We used our class results to create a bar chart showing the difference between height and arm span. The children found that unlike the vitruvian man there was often a different between their arm span and height. Some of the children concluded that their arms and legs must grow at different rates as they are different lengths.
