This week we have focused on Spring flowers and Easter. We shared the story, Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring and payed particular attention to Spring flowers. For science/understanding the world, we studied a variety of flowers and talked about why the flowers didn’t have roots. We selected one of the flowers and then drew our favourite. We produced some beautiful artwork. During maths, we matched numerals to Numicon shapes as well as practise our subitising skills.
We produced some flowers and Easter egg pictures on the computer and visited the printer to collect our pictures. We found out about how Christians celebrate Easter and learned that Christians believe that Jesus died on Good Friday and went to Heaven on Easter Sunday. We produced some Easter cards with finger printed chicks on to represent new life. We also thoroughly enjoyed making some chocolate Easter nests. As part of our Friday outdoor session we had great fun searching for chocolate eggs during an egg hunt! We came to nursery dressed in yellow and blue clothes to show our support for the people of Ukraine today.
