This week we have continued our plant/flower theme and focussed on Vincent van Gogh’s Twelve Sunflower’s in a Vase. We produced some stunning paintings of sunflowers as well as making booklets and drawings. In maths we played dominoes to improve our subitising skills. We practised sounding out words again in phonics using robot arms. We produced some spring garden pictures on the computer and some us us had a trip to the photocopying room to collect our pictures. During our Friday outdoor session we looked for signs of Spring in the snow! We talked about typical Spring weather and how unusual it was to have snow on April 1st! Our science focus included discussion and examination of the snow and the effects that the sun has on it. For example, we noticed water dripping from the school roof and some puddles where the sun had thawed the snow.
