Today Robins climbed on a coach and travelled to Washington Wetlands for a day out. As it was the first full day visit out of school, they were very excited!
Our morning was spent pond dipping and learning about the creatures at the centre. The children were able to hold lots of artefacts and had the chance to ask lots of questions.
We visited the flamingos and saw families of birds with ducklings. After a visit to the otters to watch their feeding time, it was time for the children to be fed and we enjoyed a picnic.
During the afternoon, we had a tour around the site with the lovely helpers who told the children lots of information about the wetland birds and the wildlife. We visited a hide and used our information mats to identify the birds we could see.
We had a fabulous day out and arrived back at school with rosy cheeks and big smiles.
