Mrs Pedersen Wylie and the reception children have been science investigators this week. They have made observations about the salad plants that were planted before half term. The children noted and discussed the changes they have observed and explained why the changes happened. The children used the iPad to take photos to record their findings. The then children dug up the lettuce, beetroot, radishes and chard. They looked at the plant and discussed roots, stem, leaves & plant. They also explored the part of each plant that could be eaten. The children helped wash the salad before tasting it. They predicted whether they would like the taste or not. They noted this with cubes placed on yes and no. At the end the children chose their favourite salad using a pictogram.
