School Games Day!

Yesterday, children across the whole school came together to celebrate School Games Day. Each class was assigned a country and came dressed in the colours of their countries’ flags. This year’s School Games Day was focused on Paralympic and disability sport. In the classroom, children learnt more about the history of the Paralympics and watched some videos of last year’s games. They also then decorated flags and banners ready for the parade in the afternoon. Outside, children took part in a range of different activities which are specifically designed to be accessible for all abilities. The activities combined a range of different skills and children had the opportunity to learn how someone with a disability may access them. Finally, at the end of the day, the whole school gathered on the KS1 yard for a parade. Each class paraded around with their fantastic flags and banners. It was a great day of celebrating sport!
