‘Taking 10’ to Read

As part of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, Key Stage 2 attended a live webinar by esteemed author, and founder of ‘Power Thoughts,’ Natalie Costa. During this live broadcast, the children were given opportunities to share ideas on how to find empowerment whenever they make a mistake; they were encouraged to think positively about how to overcome things they find tricky; they were also reminded that we all find certain things challenging and that this is OK.

Natalie Costa shared various strategies to help build confidence, resilience and positive wellbeing. The children also heard from others in the live chat and could contribute their own ideas.

At the end of the webinar, Key Stage 2 joined together to read and relax. The session discussed how good reading can be for our mental wellbeing and how much enjoyment we can take from becoming ‘lost’ in a book.
