This week, KS1 and KS2 were lucky enough to have the wonderful Reverend Danie come into school and carry out some workshops. The children were so engaged in KS1 and LKS2 as Reverend Danie acted out the Christmas story. The Reverend left us with some ‘I wonder’ questions to think about that we were able to discuss in class.
In UKS2, Reverend Danie talked to the children about the true meaning of Christmas to Christians and its importance. Year 5 and 6 children are building evidence for a balanced argument on whether only Christians should celebrate Christmas and so this gave them an insight into the viewpoint of Christians on this subject.
We are very grateful to have Reverend Danie support the children of Windy Nook in their learning. We had a fantastic day and look forward to welcoming her back to school soon!
