This week, we have focused on the story, Bear Stays Up which tells the tale of a bear struggling to stay awake in the lead up to Christmas. However, with the help of his friends and some teamwork he succeeds to stay awake. We have had a great time using props to re-enact the story and produce some bear themed artwork. We created bears on the interactive white board, painted pictures of bears and drew bears. Just like the bear in the story of Bear Stays Up, we have started to prepare for Christmas. We produced some handprints for our calendars and decorated the class Christmas tree. We also decorated nursery with some tinsel. For maths and phonics this week we consolidated what we learned last week and found more pairs of shapes in our environment and performed actions while describing the actions to each other. Our child initiated learning this week has been practicing our DT skills by making some trumpets and microphones to use on our outdoor stage. During our Friday outdoor session we cleaned our outdoor house and created recipes in our mud kitchen.
