Welcome New Nursery Friends!

We have had a great first week back in nursery and have been as busy as ever! We have welcomed some new friends who have settled really well. We have continued to take turns at being a Special Helper and work together by communicating with each other to complete tasks and helping our new friends. Our focus at the moment is Winter and we shared the book, Secretes of Winter. We turned off the lights and used a torch to reveal hidden sections within the book. On one page we discovered some illustrations of snowflakes and learned that every snowflake is different and always has six sides. We made our own snow flakes with paint and by using the touch screen board to produce snowflake/Winter pictures. For phonics we participated in some ring games and music and movement activities. For maths we rolled a dice and found the corresponding amount of snowflakes (cotton wool pads). We made some white playdough and added some silver glitter to make it look like frost/snow. Some of us made some snowflake shapes using the playdough. During our Friday outdoor session we used our mud kitchen to experiment making different textures and create weird and wonderful recipes!
