This half term some of the children from LKS2 took part in a History after school club following on from their topic Vicious Vikings. The allowed them to make some Viking Longships.
The first week saw them drawing around net templates for the ship, shields and the head and tail of a mythological animal. They then cut them all out and attached the base of the ship with double sided tape.
Then the second week they used paint to cover all of the base and designed their shields to go on the outside.
The third week saw a second coat of paint on the base of the ship and painting red stripes onto the sail.
Their final week saw a mast being attached with the sail on, shields being glued onto the sides and oars being attached with paddles. The end results were amazing! The children have had a fantastic few weeks.
