On Thursday 2nd March, Windy Nook Primary joined schools around the country and around the world to celebrate World Book Day.
The idea of this special day is to promote a love of reading and enjoyment of books. We had lots of book-based activities going on in school, including quizzes, art, live broadcasts and votes for favourite books. In our assembly, we learned more about the history of world book day, as well as talking about what our first favourite book was and what our perfect library would look like.
We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Mr Atkinson from WH Smith. He generously gave out books to children across the whole school and gave super recommendations about authors and their latest releases. A big THANK YOU from us all goes to Mr Atkinson.
Thanks also to all parents, staff and children for all working together to make World Book Day 2023 so much fun! Watch this space for the Scholastic Book Fayre, which opens in school on Friday 17th March!
