Year 3/4 at Discovery Museum

This week, Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a lovely trip to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. The trip was an excellent opportunity to re-cap lots of our topics from this year such as, bridges, the River Tyne and electricity. The children explored the many superb exhibits and did activities based on the Tyne Bridge and the River Tyne. We also were treated to a fantastic workshop all about light (another topic of this year). The children learned more about local scientist Joseph Swan and his work towards inventing the lightbulb. They then were challenged to create all sorts of electrical circuits.

Thanks to the parents and carers for their support in making this trip happen. We also say a huge ‘thank you’ to the adults who gave up their time to help us on the day – you were great! Thanks finally to everyone at Discovery Museum for making the day so much fun and very engaging for our children.
