Science week this year focused on climate change and investigating what we can do to help our environment.
The children were set a challenge to think of ways that they could reduce, reuse and recycle and reduce their carbon footprint in school and at home. Following this competition, staff were astounded by the many different ways the children and their families got involved to help look after our planet. Take a look at all of the fantastic photographs, well done everyone!
As well as this, the children in KS1, LKS2 and UKS2 were invited to bring in a toy to contribute to the toy swap shop on Friday. It was fantastic to see the children discussing the importance of reusing toys when they’re no longer wanted and how happy they were with their brand new toy. A huge thank you to all who took part in the swap shop!
KS1 and KS2 also had an assembly with Laura from the waste and recycling visitor education centre. She spoke about the importance of the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle) and what the children can do to incorporate this into their everyday lives.
Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.
Article 29: Your education should help you use and develop your talents and abilities. It should also help you learn to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect other people.
