This week, across the whole school, we celebrated School Games Day. This is a day where we focus on a mass sports event and look at some of the countries involved with it to celebrate sports achievement. This year, we focussed on the upcoming Women’s World Cup. In class, the children learnt about the history of the women’s world cup and how it has continued to progress and raise the profile of women’s football. They watched some highlights and top goals from the last tournament and also watched some highlights from the Euros final that the lionesses won. Throughout the day, the children got the opportunity to take part in a range of football related activities. They also enjoyed dressing up in the colours of their world cup country and taking part in the whole school parade.
