This week, the Year 3/4 children have been investigating the hardness of different rocks. The children planned their comparative test of rocks such as flint, basalt, limestone, granite and marble. They then made predictions and tested the rocks by scratching the surfaces with different objects.
Afterwards, a results table was completed and children made their conclusions. The results were really interesting and everyone learned a lot more about the properties of different rocks. It was great to handle all of the rocks too.
