The school council would like to inform you that on Monday 16th October it is “World Food Day”. World Food Day is organised by the United Nations. In support of World Food Day, this year, the school council have decided to collect donations for the Gateshead Food Bank.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
From Monday 16th October to 20th October, we will be collecting donations of dried and tinned food and toiletries. You can drop off donations at the main office or your child can bring donations into their classroom.
The Food banks urgently need donations of tinned meat, UHT milk, fruit juice, tinned fish & tinned vegetables.
Other food you may wish to donate are listed below:
Breakfast cereals, Soup, Pasta, Rice, Pasta sauce, Tinned beans, Tinned meat, Tinned fish, Tinned vegetables, Tinned fruit, Sugar, Biscuits & Snacks.
Some of the School Council members will be visiting the food bank to drop off donations to see first hand where the donations go and how they are distributed.
We understand that the cost of living crisis is challenging and donations may be very difficult or not possible. Please do not feel that you have to donate at this time.
Article 24: You have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
Article 27: You have the right to food, clothing, a safe place to live and to have your basic needs met. You should not be disadvantaged so that you can’t do many of the things other kids can do.
Many Thanks
Mrs Ramanandi, Mr Newman and the School Council
