We’re going on a shape hunt!

For maths this week we have focussed on shape. We took part in shape hunts both indoors and outdoors. We discovered that triangles were more difficult to find than circles, squares and rectangles. We continued our Winter theme and used our imagination to produce some Wintery footprints which feature in one of our focus books, Secretes of Winter. We worked in pairs to paint each others feet and then walked across some paper. It was great fun! We worked on resilience again as we took off and put on our socks and shoes. We participated in our weekly Squiggle While You Wiggle session. We completed some weather themed pictures on our interactive white board. We learned the word, icon this week as we completed our whole school Travel Tracker initiative. We had to look for our assigned icon, tap it and then say how we travelled to nursery. During our outdoor session on Friday we had a wonderful time in our mud kitchen and digging area. We also did a wonderful job of sweeping up the vast amount of leaves that had accumulated within our outdoor area. We composted the leaves and discussed what will happen to the leaves when they are in our compost bin and why it is important.
