Delicious Pumpkin Soup in Nursery!

Following on from our pumpkin and Autumn activities last week, we used the flesh and seeds from the pumpkins to make some pumpkin soup and roasted pumpkin seeds. To make our soup we chopped onion and pumpkin, added a stock cube and some water and then we cooked it in a pan and blended it. Some of us thought that the soup was delicious and some thought it was “disgusting”! Most of us really enjoyed the roasted pumpkin seeds and had seconds and thirds! We worked on balancing during our physical development sessions this week. In maths we worked on subitising. On Wednesday morning we participated in a fantastic music performance. Some musicians played some instruments for us and sang some songs. We had a brilliant time joining in with actions and singing.  On Thursday we came to nursery dressed in Halloween themed costumes which was very exciting. On Friday we enjoyed another Autumn walk and checked to see if there were any apples left on our apple trees. We discovered that there were still lots of apples on one of our trees. We tried jumping to reach the apples but we couldn’t reach them so Miss Clough used a ladder to able to pick them. Mrs McNally shock the tree and lots of apples fell off which we thought was very funny! There were enough apples for everyone to collect and carry back to nursery. We enjoyed some of the apples at snack time and we hope to do some cooking with the apples after half term.
