This week we have continued to learn more facts about worms and composting. We started to make a display of what is compostable and which insects we can find in a compost bin. So far we have produced some fantastic worms, fruit flies and snails. We have enjoyed the story Yucky Worms this week. In maths we used cubes to separate amounts into two parts. During our Playdough Disco session we used a rolling action to make worms. On the interactive white board we completed insect themed jigsaws and drew pictures of snails. We found some big snails in our garden area and used magnifying glasses to examine the snails closely. During our Friday outdoor session we checked on the progress of the sunflower seeds that we planted last Friday. We discovered that some of the seeds have already started to grow which was really exciting! We watered the seedlings and put them back in the greenhouse. We spent some time with our Year 6 pupils this morning which was lovely. We also played a sorting game which involved us using our imaginations to pretend skipping ropes were worms and worm holes/tunnels were represented by hoops. We had two minutes to sort all of the coloured ‘worms’ into their matching ‘tunnel’!
