This week marked a lovely beginning to the new term, as we welcomed back familiar faces and greeted new children joining us for the first time. It’s been heart-warming to see everyone settling into their new class, getting to know one another, and beginning to form new friendships. The children have been learning the daily routine, including finding their coat pegs and drawers independently—an important step in building confidence and independence. Snack time has provided a great opportunity for children to bond with their new key worker groups, and we’ve seen lots of kindness and teamwork as they support one another throughout the day. We also introduced the exciting role of Special Helper to our new children. It’s a lovely way to build responsibility and pride in contributing to the class community. We enjoyed making playdough together. The children loved getting hands-on with the ingredients, mixing, squishing, and creating—all while developing fine motor skills and enjoying sensory play. We’ve also spent time exploring the outdoors, where the children have been discovering natural treasures, engaging in imaginative play, and enjoying the fresh air. It’s been a joyful and gentle start to what promises to be a year full of growth, discovery, and fun!
