This week, Lower Key Stage 2 have been diving into the world of Ancient Rome through art as part of our History topic.
After learning about Roman designs and patterns, the children became Roman artists themselves! They sculpted their own clay tiles, carefully carving in shapes, borders, and traditional Roman symbols. Once their tiles had dried, they brought them to life with paint—adding bold colours inspired by real Roman mosaics. The finished tiles look fantastic—a wonderful mix of ancient style and modern imagination.
Well done, everyone, for your hard work, creativity, and teamwork. The Romans would definitely have been impressed!
Article 29: “Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.”
