This Week in Nursery we celebrated Interfaith Week by learning about Christianity. The children listened to the story of The Good Samaritan, which helped us think about what it means to be kind and helpful to others. They enjoyed discussing ways we can show kindness every day. To make this learning visible, we used one of our plants in nursery and called it our Kindness Tree. The children were encouraged to think about kind actions and then mark-make or draw their ideas, creating beautiful pictures and early writing showing how to be a kind person—such as helping friends, sharing toys, and using kind words. In maths, we continued exploring sorting by colour and enjoyed a ‘Feel the Beat’ counting activity. Children rotated between the activities they tried last week, giving them a chance to build on previous learning. We also completed mathematical themed games on the interactive white board. We observed a two-minute silence on Tuesday for Remembrance while standing around a collage of a poppy that we made together. We finished our display of poppy drawings from last week. On Friday we participated in Children in Need activities and talked about children who aren’t as fortunate as we are and why we were raising money.
It’s been a thoughtful and creative week full of learning and reflection!
