Today whilst preparing for their stalls at the Summer Festival, Year 6 pupils were visited by a member of the Virgin money team. The children were informed that we would be again taking part in the Virgin money scheme ‘Make £5 Grow’. We watched a video showing us a group of pupils who previously accepted the £5 challenge and battled it out to see who could amass the biggest profit from their initial £5 fund. We watched how competing teams came up with several different ideas and then produced and sold their products hoping to make the most profit. We then talked about how we could use some of ideas, processes and products for our own festival. The children talked about the importance of budgeting, keeping their costs low and how they could maximize their profits.
Lets hope the children can really make their £5’s grow on July 8th when they sell their wonderful items in the Summer Festival. We know you can’t wait to buy them all!!
