Inspired by the story Jack and the Beanstalk, this week we explored counting, adding and subtracting using ‘magic beans’. The children were very excited to go to the market to buy animals using the beans. The children decided how much each animal was worth, before counting out the corresponding amount of beans. The adults posed questions to push mathematical thinking about addition and subtraction. Super Mathemagicians Dragonflies!
