What a great week back in English. Over the next three weeks the children will be using the familiar text ‘Five Minutes Peace’ by Jill Murphy. This week was our reading week. The children have loved listening to the story. They had a selection of pictures from the story and some text to read and match correctly. To help them, they used the Five Golden Rules of reading. They used their phonic knowledge to help blend unfamiliar words, used the pictures as prompts, used the phonic sound mats to help them identify sounds, asked a partner for help and the last rule to ask an adult.
