Welcome to Tulips!
Teachers: Mrs Hope & Mrs Bulch
Welcome to Tulips! We want our classroom to be a happy, welcoming place where everyone feels safe, supported and ready to learn. In Tulips, we work hard, help one another and celebrate everyone’s achievements. We are looking forward to a fantastic year together!
Homework
Homework is set every Friday and should be completed and returned by the following Friday.
Spellings
Spellings will be sent home at the beginning of each spelling unit and children will be tested at the end of the unit.
Our spelling units are different lengths, so please check the spelling sheet for the date of each spelling test. Regular practice at home will really help!
Times Tables
Times tables should be practised daily to build speed and confidence and to prepare children for the Multiplication Tables Check.
Little and often is best – even a few minutes each day makes a difference.
Reading
Children should read at home every day for a minimum of 10–15 minutes.
Daily reading is essential for developing children’s fluency, vocabulary and understanding, so please make this part of your child’s everyday routine.
PE – Tuesday
Our PE day is Tuesday. Please make sure children have the correct PE kit in school.
Swimming – Wednesday
Swimming takes place every Wednesday.
Where possible, please send children to school wearing their swimming kit underneath their uniform to make changing quicker and easier.
Please remember to bring a towel every Wednesday.
