Welcome to Oaks
Teacher: Miss Smith
Welcome to Oaks Class! This year is all about growing in confidence, becoming independent learners and taking pride in everything we do. We will challenge ourselves, learn from our mistakes and support each other along the way. We have lots of exciting learning ahead and can’t wait to see everyone flourish throughout the year!
Homework
Homework is set every Friday and should be completed and returned by the following Thursday. Some homework may be completed online. Homework pages and tasks will be available on the class website each week.
Spellings
Spellings are sent home at the start of each unit. Children will be tested at the end of the unit. Please practise regularly, as units vary in length.
Times Tables
Children should continue to practise their times tables daily, including regular use of Times Tables Rock Stars (TT Rock Stars) at home.
Reading
Children should read at home every day for 10–15 minutes. To develop independence and responsibility, children can record their reading in their own reading diary and have it signed by an adult.
Please ensure reading diaries are brought into school every day.
