Snowdrops (Y3/4)

Welcome to Snowdrops

Teacher: Mr Hill

Welcome to Snowdrops! We want our classroom to be a safe, positive and encouraging environment where everyone feels valued, supported and ready to learn. In Snowdrops, we work together, listen to one another and celebrate everyone’s achievements. We believe that everyone has a voice, and we encourage children to share their ideas, ask questions and have confidence in their learning.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with exciting learning, new experiences and lots of fun!

Homework

Homework is set every Friday and should be completed and returned by the following Friday.

Spellings

Spellings will be sent home at the beginning of each spelling unit. Some spelling units will last for a number of weeks, so children may keep the same spelling list for more than one week.

Please check the spelling sheet carefully for information about the spelling test date. Regular practice at home will really help children to develop their spelling skills and confidence.

Times Tables

Times tables should be practised regularly to build speed, accuracy and confidence with multiplication and division facts.

Little and often is best – even a few minutes of practice each day can make a big difference!

Reading

Children should read at home every day for a minimum of 10–15 minutes.

Daily reading is essential for developing children’s fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and love of reading, so please encourage your child to make reading part of their everyday routine.

PE – Thursday

Our PE day is Thursday. Please make sure children have the correct PE kit in school.
